We had a great time. Service was outstanding, campsite and restrooms were very clean and functional. This was the best campground of our 5 week western adventure.

This KOA Campground is Outstanding. The extra touches from welcome e-mails to the greeting we received upon arrival, the availability of food to order on site, continental breakfast, and THE STAFF made for a wonderful stay. Not to mention the VERY CLEAN and NICE BATHROOMS/SHOWERS. THE STAFF and the extras that they provide set them apart from any other campground that we have stayed. Connie

We loved our stay here. The staff is the best, friendly and very helpful. The grounds are immaculate the patio site we had is the best one we've had in a long time. Loved the trail and the history signs! The remodeled baths are beautiful and clean. Great job and next time we'll be ordering the BBQ

Upon checking in we were given a couple of fresh baked cookies along with a very pleasant smile and greeting which is always welcomed after a long drive. Being able to order a delicious dinner from the on-site kitchen was an added bonus.

Outstanding RV Park. We've been traveling about a month now staying in KOA's throughout Arizona and New Mexico and this is one of the best. Clean, well maintained and the staff are fantastic. Grants and Holbrook KOA's were the best on our trip and look forward to staying both again.

Very nice stay here. Clean family cabin. Comfortable and warm in late winter. Breakfast there was great. The trains that come through at night weren’t too close, but you can still hear them. That would be the only negative. Otherwise great place to stay.

Staff incredibly friendly. Great breakfast - included! Also - they deliver dinner and dessert if you want for a cost. Clean, modern bathrooms. Other great amenities. I particularly enjoyed the walking path, which had great knowledge signs along way w/ info about the area and landmarks in view. The collapsed lava bubble was so interesting! I appreciated the refrigerator in the cabin I rented.

What a cool place! At first glance, the area appears a bit bleak. Once settled into the campground, though, the surroundings are fascinating. Staff are friendly and helpful--they even provide free continental breakfast! I wish I had planned to stay longer instead of just passing through. Do not miss the informational trail while you're here!

Such a little gem! The staff are beyond kind. When we checked in, they were closing the kitchen, and asked if we wanted any food and they'd open the kitchen back up. So sweet. The campsites are clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms are great. The gift shop is super cute. And they offer free pancakes and coffee in the morning. If we ever pass through, we'd stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights while making our way east. The campground is located just south of I-40 on the southwest edge of Grants, New Mexico, next to a large field of lava rock. You can reach the campground entrance from either end of Cibola Sands Loop, a short curved road that bows out from Route 53, so if you miss one entrance to the road you'll have a second chance. The campground has the usual mix of cabins, tent sites, and RV sites. The tents and cabins are all on the northern edge of the park, along with a couple of small RV back-in sites with only water and electric hookups. The rest of the RV sites are FHU pull-through sites arranged in three rows with all of the sites pointed northwest. All of campgrounds roads and RV site surfaces are gravel. All of the pull-through RV sites have a picnic table and are open to the sky; some sites only have 30amp connections, some have patios, and some have an adjacent tree providing a bit of shade. Our site (136) was a bit un-level side-to-side such that we put a board under our driver-side camper tires. The office building is typical of most KOAs: it contains a store that sells convenience store items (including bags of ice) as well as souvenirs, a laundry room with a small reading library, and bathrooms accessed via key code. The bathrooms are all individual rooms with showers. Next to the office is a collection of small lawn games (cornhole, Connect Four, and tetherball), and several steps further to the east is a small playground. A propane refill station and a dump station are located near the campground entrance, and there is a single large dumper across from the western end of the pull-through rows. On the south side of the campground is a short gravel walking trail that winds through the lava field, with signs pointing out landmarks and providing facts about the area. Campers can stop by the office between 7:30am and 9:30am to make pancakes with a pancake-making machine at no charge. The campground also has a dinner menu: you can order the food and they will deliver it to your site. Current menu items include five types of dinners, four pizza options and pie or cake with a side of ice cream for dessert. The campground has two dog parks: one right across from the office next to where you stop to check in, and a slightly larger one behind the dump station. Both have gravel surfaces, single gates, and no dedicated lighting. You can also walk dogs in the large dirt and brush area on the east end of the campground or on the walking trail. In terms of cell service, the best speed I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was only 3 Mbps down and 7 up, even though the cell signal strength looked good. The best speed I saw on my AT&T smartphone with 5G was much better, with 24 Mbps down and 8 up. The campground WiFi was excellent: I saw 70 down and 5 up on my initial speed test, and we ended up using the WiFi for work and for streaming.
