Barstow / Calico KOA

Local Area Attractions

Calico Ghost Town

Old silver mining town built in 1881 during the largest silver strike in California. It is now one of a few original Old West mining camps and consists of at least one-third original structures; the remaining buildings are consistent in representing reconstruction of the Old West. A fun place for the whole family only 3 miles from the park.

Rainbow Basin

A beautiful national natural landmark located just 12 miles from us. Though access is unpaved much of the way, it is an easy drive to the Rainbow Basin Loop, an area of multi-colored rock formations and scenic canyons.

Calico Early Man Archaeological Site

Unique in-place museum of Pleistocene archaeology and geology and two master pits where most of the findings were made.
