Trinity Lake KOA

Local Area Attractions

Fun on the Lake

Trinity Lake holds the national record for the largest small-mouth bass. Other fish thriving here include trout, steelhead and catfish. At 20 miles long, the lake offers great waterskiing, too! If you bring your own vessel, you are welcome to use our private boat slip. If you would prefer to rent, we offer ski boats, patio boats and fishing boats, fully equipped with everything you need for a day of fun on the water.

Jake Jackson Museum

As a celebration of Trinity's rich mining history, the Jake Jackson Museum traces Trinity County's roots from the earliest recorded days of the Native cultures to the advent of the Gold Rush. Visit the blacksmith and tin shop, the stamp mill and "The Barn," which houses antique buggies and wagons.

Eureka

Perfect for a day trip, Eureka is a two-hour drive from the campground. Named one of the "Top 10 Travel Hot Spots for 2007," Eureka is in the heart of the Redwood Empire - where you will find the tallest living trees on Earth. Established in 1850 as a commercial logging and fishing port town, Eureka offers many historical sites as well.

Trinity River Scenic Byway

"From the Valley Oaks to the Redwood Coast" is the theme of a beautiful drive from the Sacramento River Valley to the stunning Redwood Coast. Follow the same path as Gold Rush-era stagecoaches while you take in an array of geographical wonders. For more information, visit the Shasta Cascade Region online.

Trinity Heritage Scenic Byway

Take Highway 3 along the "Oregon-California Trade Route" and relect on the trade and travel that took place there. The Scenic Byway features travel through the Trinity Alps to Trinity Lake. Visit the Shasta Cascade Region online for more information.

Rafting and Kayaking

Old Bridge Rafting offers several levels of rafting, from mild to wild. Enjoy a solitary kayak ride or a guided rafting trip. For more information, call (530) 778-3436.
