Sand Dunes National Monument

Nestled beneath blue sky and 14,000-foot mountain peaks, the Great Sand Dunes look much the same today as in the early 1800s. Whipped by prevailing winds to heights of over 700 feet, this ocean of sand covers about 39 square miles.

Sand Dunes Swimming Pool

Come for family fun, relaxation and rejuvenation to this natural hot water artesian oasis. The Sand Dunes pool includes a 24-foot kid's water slide and is open year-round.

Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad

America’s longest and highest narrow gauge steam railroad. A special journey into yesterday, this enchanting narrow-gauge steam railroad is an exciting and marvelous adventure, meandering 64 miles in the awesome peaks and valleys of the scenic Rockies, through tunnels, gorges, and breathtaking trestles. Today, this dramatic railroad is owned by the states of Colorado and New Mexico and is a Registered National Historic Site.

Colorado Alligator Farm

The world famous Rocky Mountain White Tilapia hybrid was developed here. You will see alligators and fish, as well as other native wildlife.
