Eisenhower Center

Located in Abilene, KS. Center’s museum depicts the military and civilian careers of Dwight D. Eisenhower, with major changing exhibits. Visitor Center houses a gift shop and auditorium, showing a film on Ike several times daily. Center features include a Presidential Research Library, Eisenhower family home and Place of Meditation where President and Mrs. Eisenhower are buried.

Ride the Rails

Located in Abilene, KS. Runs six miles through fertile Kansas farmland. Experience the pleasures of early day train travel in this beautiful and historic country. Here the Longhorn cattle were loaded onto trains in 1867. The A&SV operates a 100 year old wooden coach/diner, a 1945 ALCO S1 engine and other equipment to re-create the trains of yesterday and to provide an educational experience for everyone. Hours are: May, September and October -- Saturday 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day -- Tuesday thru Friday departs 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Sunday 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Special operations throughout the year.
