Bowling Green KOAMeet Your Hosts What started out as a two-person operation has grown into a family affair for Dan and Yvonne Goad, owners of the Bowling Green KOA. When they purchased their campground in 1999, the Goads, then empty-nesters, ran it with just the two of them. "Half the family is here now," Dan said. Before purchasing the campground, Dan was a trouble shooter for an equipment manufacturer. Yvonne was, and still is, an office deputy for the local sheriff's office. They were interested in purchasing a KOA campground because it gave them a new challenge in life. "We felt like we needed a different path," Dan said. "We wanted to accomplish some other goals in life." Since purchasing the KOA, Dan said the couple has reinvested nearly every penny back into their business. "We are constantly striving to improve the place to make it as nice as possible," he said. "We believe in doing everything we can to make it the best campground it can be." The Goads are proud of their campground and feel it is one of the nicest KOA campgrounds in the system. Dan said they are both "people people" and love to get to know campers. "Yvonne is the kind of person who has never met a stranger. She gets along with everybody," he said. They also like the different roles and the variety that owning a campground brings. "Yvonne is the boss," Dan said. "I am just the one who takes care of all the things she can't quite handle, and most things she can handle." Come meet The Goad Family. |
