John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon - January

John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon -- This three-day race is the toughest race in the lower 48 states. Other activities include a 150-mile, 8-dog race, cutest puppy contest, banquets and more. This event is held in January.

Duluth Winter Festival

This is a two week event of winter activities like hockey, broomball, skiing, sled dog races, horse-drawn sleigh and cutter parade and more.

Grandma's Marathon, mid-June

This Saturday event is held mid-June and includes an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, a health and fitness expo, world-class guest speakers and live entertainment throughout the day.

Fourthfest - 4th of July

This is the Midwest's greatest Fourth of July celebration with fireworks, free concerts with national entertainers, arts and crafts activities, children's playground and delicious food and beverage concession stands.

Bayfront Blues Festival, mid August

An annual event held mid-August. This is one of the largest outdoor music festivals in the Midwest. Weekend events include performances by over 20 national performers, a Moonlight Blues Cruise, Blues Train excursion aboard the North Shore Scenic Railroad and live Blues at nearly 25 local nightclubs.

North shore Inline Marathon, mid-September.

This event is designed for all ages and is held mid-September.

Ship of Ghouls - week before Halloween

This event is held the week before Halloween and provides haunted tours that will chill you to the bone.

Festival of Lights - November to January

Duluth National Snocross - Thanksgiving weekend

This spectacular event of bright lights, big city, triple jumps is held Thanksgiving weekend. These pro-am races feature indoor/outdoor viewing and a manufacturer's expo.
