Spring events

The Chase of Champions (April) - one of the state's biggest road races; Bass Fishing Tournament (April); Living History Weekend at Stonewall Manor (held late April); The Outdoor Art Show (held on Mother's Day) - one of the largest, oldest and most prestigious arts events in eastern North Carolina; Harambee Festival (May) - a celebration of Afro-American culture with music, dance and costumes; Nashville Blooming Festival (May) - this is a day of fun and casual entertainment featuring unique crafts, live music, great food and children's rides and activities.

Summer events

Annual Freedom Celebration at Rocky Mount Stadium (held July 3rd) - this is the areas largest Independence Celebration; Annual July 4th Celebration - this is the best in old fashioned food, entertainment, parades and fireworks; TNT Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament (October).

Fall events

Area Artists Show (September); Rocky Mount Fair (September) - the areas largest, fun-filled carnival with dozens of rides, exhibits and great food; Annual Chamber Business Expo (October); Down East Festival of The Arts (held the second Saturday in October) - this is a two-day event that features live music, dance, crafts and down home cooking; Spring Hope Pumpkin Festival (October) - enjoy parades, great food and plenty of fall festivities; Coastal Plain Arts and Crafts Show (November) - choose from wood work, quilts, ceramics and many other crafts.

Christmas Parade (November) - floats, marching bands and St. Nick himself; Christmas At City Lake (November) - traditional lighting of the city tree at City Lake; Annual Holiday Bazaar (November) - handcrafted items with emphasis on holiday gifts; Christmas at Stonewall (held the second Sunday in December) - historic home decorated for Christmas; Christmas Chorale (December) - area's finest voices come together to share holiday music; Festival of Trees (December) - area businesses and residents come together to display their Christmas trees, holiday crafts, festive foods and music; Have a Ball at the Mall (New Year's Eve) - a celebration for all ages with food, games and music; Artists on the Mall Series (February through March) - enjoy square dancing, bag pipes and many other activities for all ages.
