Rio Grande Nature Center

Experience the living environment of more than 270 acres of riverside forests and meadows. All manner of birds and migratory fowl can be seen year-round. Enjoy strolling along two miles of trails, bird-watching, and studying desert creatures and wildflowers.

National Atomic Museum

Visit the nation's largest exhibit of nuclear weapons at the National Atomic Museum. Military buffs will enjoy the B-52 bomber, full-scale missile models and fighter bombers on display. Learn about peaceful applications of nuclear power and alternative energy technology. The informative movie "Ten Seconds That Shook The World," which recreates the project that ushered in a new era, is shown several times a day.

The New Mexico Rail Runner

Only one mile away from our kampground is New Mexico's brand new raildroad! This railroad takes you to different parts of Albuquerque and in the year 2007 the Rail Runner will be going to different areas in Santa Fe. There are three different stations to choose from in Albuquerque, where there will be buses awaiting your arrival to take you to your destination.

Sandia Peak Tramway

Just minutes from the heart of Albuquerque, the world's longest aerial tramway lifts you to the breathtaking top of Sandia Peak. Experience the drama of an 11,000 square mile panoramic view of New Mexico from the World's Longest Tramway. The Balloon Fiesta

For nine days in October, the New Mexico skies are painted as hundreds of balloons lift off from Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta Park. Nothing rivals the power of Mass Ascension on crisp early mornings as these graceful giants leave the ground to take their place in the cerulean desert sky. For ballooning fans worldwide the Kodak Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a pilgrimage.
