Cedar Point

People throughout the entire world know about Cedar Point. It's the number-one rated amusement park on the planet. On this 364-acre peninsula jutting into Lake Erie, there are more roller coasters than anywhere else. Dozens of other rides. Live singers and dancers in three theatres. Cedar Point is to debut the world's talent, fastest roller coaster 420-foot-tall, 120-MPH "Top Thrill Dragster" to open in May 2003. New thriller will be park's 16th coaster-more than anywhere else on earth. Every year more than three million people visit Cedar Point.

Miss Ohio Festival

The Miss Ohio Festival kicks off Miss Ohio Week. It is held the weekend prior to the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant in downtown Mansfield in June. The Miss Ohio Scholarship Program will feature 29 young women from around the state of Ohio.

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course

This 2.4 -mile road course boasts six national and international motorsports events during its season. Fans can roam the 330-acre facility, spread a blanket on one of the grassy mounds and enjoy the races. We are only ½ hour away.

Mansfield Motorsports Speedway

This racetrack hosts the Hoosier Outlaw Sprint Series, Main Event Racing Series, Namars Midgets, ARCA Truck Series, and more.

The Infield

Featuring ¼ mile go-kart go-kart track, miniature golf, batting cages, arcade, kids race track and play area.

Brownella Cottage

Restored Victorian mansion (1887) of Bishop William M. Brown, turn-of-the-century national political and religious leader, complete with original furnishings. Grounds feature the Bishop's library, covered walkways and a history museum.

Freedom Festival

July 4th at Mansfield Lahm Airport is the only festival in the area that provides both air and ground entertainment and is the largest fireworks show in North Central Ohio. Scheduled to appear: C-130, Mansfield's own airlift wing: B-17, World War II historical "Yankee Lady" available for rides:C-47. The Misty Blues all girl skydiving team: Tremendous car show Wings of Valor, display of paintings and photos: Pepsi Skywriter: The Stars and Stripes, an aircraft acrobatic team.

Richland Carousel Park

Richland Carousel Park was the first new hand carved wooden carousel to be built since the early 1930s. Fifty-two beautiful animals and two chariots at this indoor facility. Accessible to the handicapped.

Ashland Balloon Fest

Enjoy the balloon race, balloon glow, entertainment, music and food at the Ashland Balloon Fest.

Shelby Bicycle Days

Carousel Magic!

Welcome to Carousel Magic! Step back in time as you watch skilled craftsmen use time honored techniques of carving, finishing, and painting to transform hardwood blocks into prancing ponies and magical menagerie figures. Our tour displays will teach you about the history, styles, and construction of carousels.

Celeryville Vegetable Farms

A 3,000-acre organic vegetable garden. View the reservoir, labor camps, greenhouses, celery and radish harvesting machines in action, radish packaging equipment and processing, packaging and loading all types of vegetables from June to September. OHIO Magazine judged them one of the best industrial tours in the state.

The Heritage Center Museum

A historical museum in the heart of Ohio depicting small town and rural life from the 1820's to the present, with Fate Root Heath Factory locomotives and Silver King tractors. Located in Plymouth, just 10 minutes from the campground.

Kingwood Center

Kingwood is the 47-acre former estate of Charles K. King. The grounds are renowned for both their historic significance and the brilliant floral displays of the new gardens. The French Provincial mansion contains many rooms decorated with Mr. King's original furnishings and one of Ohio's outstanding horticultural libraries. An elegant greenhouse features year-round displays and plant sales. The extensive grounds offer opportunities for hiking and quiet isolation from vehicles.

The Living Bible Museum

Witness the Holy Bible come to life before your very eyes with 59 life-sized dioramas accompanied with special effects and an audio text will provide for you an experience you will never forget. Also included Miracles of the Old Testament, Ohio's only wax museum and the Christian Martyrs. A collection of rare Bibles, woodcarvings, and American Votive Folk Art are now on display. The museum is non-denominational, each tour is one hour in length and wheelchair accessible. Tour guides are provided.

Ohio Bird Sanctuary

The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is located on the headwater of the Clearfork River in Mansfield, Ohio. The marsh and old growth forest offers great birding and hiking opportunities. Enjoy seeing birds up close at the birds of prey or by walking through the songbird aviary. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is also a wildlife rehabilitation for native bird species. Groups can schedule "Falcon & Friends", a live bird presentation.

The Ohio Genealogical Society Library

This is a 10,000-volume genealogical library, primarily for Ohio family research, including census records, cemetery listings, Bible records, vertical files, manuscripts, newspapers, and lineage paper for First Families of Ohio.

The Ohio State Reformatory

With the cornerstone laid in 1886, this castle-like prison was designed as a reformatory for young offenders. Abandoned in 1990, the original cellblocks and administration areas remain intact. Four major motion pictures have been filmed on location including "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Air Force One". Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, tour admissions are applied directly to the preservation of the building. Not handicapped accessible.

Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival

The largest eating festival in Ohio, of German heritage. This years Theme is Brattie Celebrates Ohio's Bicentennial.

Eric Grohe Murals

"Great American Crossroads" depicts many stories and scenes in the mural. The people and activities were chosen from various times throughtout the last 100 years. Over 130 Bucyrus citizens modeled for the artist, 88 of whom can be found in the mural. The mural artist is Eric Grohe of Marysville, Washington. Also designed and painted by Eric Grohe during the summer and fall of 2001, "Liberty Remembers" honors veterans of all wars. The portraits of 284 Crawford County veterans flank Lady Libery, who is embracing a dying soldier. During the painting of this mural, the events of September 11, 2001, unfolded. Immediately after, Eric painted a phrase on the banner which he taped to the mural and later incorporated in the painting. The phrase, "Our flag still waves. Her torch still shines," can be seen on the back arch of the monument. About 25 minutes from the campground.
