Golf

There are over 20 courses within a one hour range of our campground, from par-9 to PGA 27-hole ranges to challenge the beginner or serious duffer. There are three major courses within 15 minutes of Barrie KOA.

Shopping

Just 15 minutes to three major malls (Bayfield Mall, Georgian Mall and The Kozlov Centre) with major department stores (The Bay, Sears, Zeller’s, WalMart, 24 hour supermarkets). Highway 400 Flea Market is 25 minutes away and is open Saturday and Sunday. Cookstown Manufacturers’ Outlet Mall is 30 minutes away with quality, name-brand offerings. Elmvale Sales Barn is 25 minutes away and is open Thursday and Sunday, offering an outdoor flea market with many vendors and livestock auction, plus local produce, meats and pastries. Barrie has a Saturday morning “Farmers Market” with fresh produce, crafts and specialty foods.

Fishing

All types of freshwater fishing within 40 minutes. Boat, motor and equipment rentals are available nearby. Georgian Bay and its tributaries, as well as Lake Simcoe and Couchiching, offer pike, pickerel (walley), small-mouth bass, perch and for the serious fisherman -- muskellunge! There is a “Perch Festival” from mid-April to early May, in Orillia, with great prizes.

Waterfronts and Sandy Beaches

A large number of our campers like to just tour the area and take in the sights. Because we are in the “Heart of Huronia” there is breathtaking scenery in all four directions. Whether the camper is a “water enthusiast,” “wild fan,” “craft explorer,” “antique collector,” “sports buff” or simply a “leisure technician,” there are many things of interest to entertain and occupy the entire family.

Movies

A number of campers like to take their families to the Drive-In Theatre -- which is located approximately 20 minutes away. There is also a Cineplex in Barrie, featuring first-run movies.

Fairs and Shows

To numerous to mention, come and enjoy the fall colours and venture the countryside visiting local artisans, roadside flea markets or just stroll the area and take in the breathing taking views.
