Point South KOAMeet Your Hosts Bill and Barbara Olendorf purchased the lovely Point South kampground in 1983 and have been adding to its beauty and fun ever since. "We treat everyone with respect and strive to deliver a product that pleases our kampers and serves their needs," say the Olendorfs. Before becoming kampground owners, Bill spent 20 years in Chicago as a television advertising sales executive, while Barbara kept busy as a stay-at-home mom, with a grown son and raising two daughters. "We were ready for a change! Bill was particularly interested in working for himself and we both had grown tired of winters in the North," say the Olendorfs. They loved to camp, so they investigated the campground field. Seeing the Point South kampground in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, with its mild winters, natural beauty and rich history, sealed the deal. Bill and Barbara have added enjoyable and unique amenities to the kampground, including the Kaboose and Trolley cabins and the Swimming Mermaid Coffee House, as well as Barbara's many mini-gardens planted throughout the park. They also enjoy providing pizza for their kampers' enjoyment right at their kampsites! Bob spends his spare time as an amateur radio operator, with call sign K4KOA. He is a Civil War expert and loves to sail. Barbara enjoys reading and computerized genealogy. Together, they enjoy their family and attend Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
