Panguitch is the Paiute word for "big fish," and plenty of lunker trout prowl Panguitch Lake 16 miles south of this high desert campground in the state's southwest corner. Natural wonders abound in this region, including Bryce Canyon and Zion national parks and, a few hours south, the north rim of the Grand Canyon. To the east, the Kodachrome Basin State Park earned its name from the photogenic rock spires and formations that seem to glow at sunrise and sunset. The Panguitch KOA puts you close to it all. ATV, hiking and bike trails fan out from near the campground. Cool off in the pool, play horseshoes or volleyball and catch up on email outdoors thanks to KOA's Wi-Fi connection. Campsites are within easy walking distance of the restaurants and shops of downtown Panguitch.
