Vernal / Dinosaurland KOAMeet Your Hosts For new owners Bob and Gail Brown, purchasing their KOA in Dinosaurland, Utah was not a new business. Bob was an insurance manager and they owned a Perkins restaurant in Montana. Bob wanted to retire and, "we wanted to own a business together," said Gail. A friend introduced them to KOA campgrounds and encouraged them to look into the business. This prompted them to purchase their first KOA in Needles, California. They lived in California and ran their campground for two years before deciding they would rather own a seasonal campground than a year-round business. So, they moved to Utah and purchased their new KOA, but never changed the way they ran it. Giving their employees the leeway necessary to ensure great customer service has always been a top priority. "Our customers are part of the family," said Gail. According to Bob and Gail, the greatest part of their KOA is the recreational value. Campers can hike, fish, and boat while enjoying a small town atmosphere with little traffic. Scenic views encompass the KOA and visitors are met with, "tempered climates, green grass, mountains, and hills." Both Bob and Gail are great cooks and enjoy visiting the wine country in their spare time. Keeping in touch with friends and family is a favorite past time as well as fishing, hiking, and traveling.
