On top of Fancy Gap Mountain in the cool mountain air of Virginia, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile post 199.5, Exit 8 of I-77 and US52) lies the serene setting of the Fancy Gap KOA. We provide camping for travelers, hikers, and adventurers of the parkway as well as those who come to enjoy the great outdoors. We are close to Mount Airy, home of Andy Griffith, the Autumn Leaves Festival and Mayberry Days. Labor Day in Hillsville is the annual Gun/Antique and Flea Market which attracts thousands from all over the central southeast. We also boast the annual “Old-Time Fiddlers Convention” in nearby Galax, VA. This is the oldest and largest gathering of blue grass music lovers in the world.
The brand new Blue Ridge Music Center on the Parkway has weekend concerts and jam sessions throughout the week with local musicians. You can also enjoy some family time at the New River Trail State park where you can bike, hike or canoe. Stay with us at the campground and sit by the fire, fish in the pond, enjoy the many varieties of birds and just relax. We know the value that a family campground provides to vacation and leisure time. We are dedicated to our campers, and the quality of life in our campground is our priority.
