This brand new KOA is located in the heart of West Virginia Coal Country and Hatfield McCoy Trail System. Tucked away into a quiet mountain hollow and surrounded by a hardwood forest with brilliant colors in the spring and fall.

If you are an ATV or Dirt Bike enthusiast, come ride and enjoy the Hatfield McCoy Trails, which you can access directly from the Campground. If you want to experience an ATV’ing adventure and do not own your own or need an extra machine, rent one of our Arctic Cat 4wd, fully automatic units.

Our Camp Store is well equipped to supply your needs for ATV parts, riding gear and apparel. Also available are groceries, ice, firewood, camping/RV supplies, gasoline, propane and more.

Take a break from riding and explore the Historic Coal Heritage Region which includes Coalwood, the home of the “Rocket Boys”, a true life story portrayed in the movie “October Skies”. Visit Bramwell, WV, which was previously home to numerous turn of the Century Coal Barron’s. It also features many antique shops and other points of historic interest. Take a short drive to Welch, WV (approximately 13 miles) and visit where Sheriff “Sid Hatfield” and his associate “Ed Chambers” were gunned down on the McDowell County Courthouse steps by Baldwin-Felts Detectives due to the result of the Matewan Massacre (1920) a year before.

While in Welch, attend a reenactment play of area historical events featuring local actors at the McArts Center.

Visit the Ashland Company Store which is a renovated original Coal Company Store (approximately 1 mile from the Campground). Browse the West Virginia homemade crafts, furniture, food items and more. Take a minute to sit, relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the Coal Camp Café (inside Ashland Company Store). Homemade meals served along with warm West Virginia hospitality.

Once you have visited, you will want to come back again & again to enjoy God’s Country in Wild & Wonderful West Virginia.
