Buffalo public tennis courts

Clean and well maintained tennis courts await the amateur and professional sportsman in the cool shaded atmosphere of the Buffalo City Park. Feel free to use them at no charge.

Horseback riding

Just out of the city of Buffalo, guest ranches offer horseback riding and lessons for all comers. Details are posted in the hallway of the Buffalo KOA.

County fair

The Johnson County Fair is held annually the first week of August at the County Fairgrounds. There will be many displays of western style home craftsmanship and good country cooking as well as dances and a real western rodeo. It’s worth spending an extra day in the area.

Weekly rodeos

The Buffalo Fairgrounds is the site for the rodeo every Wednesday evening throughout the summer months. Entry fee is usually $2 to $3 per person. In addition, the fairgrounds hosts special rodeos such as the annual High School Rodeo in late May and Johnson County Fair and Rodeo the first week in August.
