Rawlins KOAMeet Your Hosts Glenda and Dennis Striegel have always loved camping and traveling and their move to KOA ownership is a natural extension of that lifestyle. The newly retired couple tent camped when first married, and continued to enjoy camping trips with their son and daughter as they were growing up. Their goal is to provide a great camping experience for travelers who stay at their Rawlins KOA park. "KOA is all about great people and great camping," Dennis added. "Our goal is to ensure that our campers leave our kampground with that feeling and a smile." The Striegel's moved from Aurora, Colorado, where Glenda was a financial manager for a global construction company and Dennis was a land surveyor. They've moved all over the country with Glenda's profession, working in the Pacific Northwest, California and Georgia as well. Their daughter now lives in Washington D.C., and is in the military, and their son is an architect in Los Angeles. "One of the things that attracts me to this business is that we'll get to meet people who are from all over," Dennis said. Travelers share a sense of adventure, he added, and it will be fun hearing the stories of their camping guests. Dennis concentrates on the outdoor responsibilities and Glenda will focus her shopping and marketing skills on the first rate gift and camp store at their KOA. She really appreciates arts and crafts, he noted, and will maximize the space, with a creative display of merchandise. They look forward to becoming snowbirds in the off-season, starting with a visit to their daughter on the East Coast and then heading south to camp in KOA's on their way to visit their son's family, including a new granddaughter, on the West Coast.
