From 91N: 91N to exit 6 in Vermont, Take route 103N to Rutland, You will run into route 7N, follow into Rutland, take route 4W towards Fair Haven. Follow route 4W to exit 4, Take a right off the off ramp onto route 30N.
From 87N(north of Albany, NY): follow 87N to exit 20, take route 9N to route 149E/N, follow route 149 to Fort Ann, There you will take a left onto route 4E, follow route 4E into Vermont to exit 4. Take a left off the off ramp onto route 30N.

Military Road Guided Hike Included with admission 1 PM-4 PM Jim Rowe, historian for the Crown Point Road Association, leads a vigorous guided hike on the Hubbardton section of the 1776-77 military road to Mount Independence. Meet at the Hubbardton Battlefield visitor center. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Then consider going on the August 17 auto tour of the first length of the road, starting at Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell at 10:00 am.

Friday 8/11, rain date Saturday 8/12Deep Sky Night at the Battlefield: Green Mountain Amateur Astronomers will show you the wonders of the deep sky, sharing their telescopes and knowledge, before the moon rises at 1:33 a.m. Clear night sky dependent, no rain date. Please note: no restroom facilities are available. Members of the Green Mountain Amateur Astronomers will be at the Hubbardton Battlefield to show you the wonders of the night sky and the Perseid meteor showers. They share their knowledge and telescopes. Weather and clear night sky dependent, August 12 is an alternate date if August 11 doesn't work out. Please note: no restroom facilities are available.
