There are many beautiful plantations in the area. Plan a day visting one of the historic grounds of the Magnolia, Middleton, Drayton Hall,or Boone Hall Plantations - to name a few. Stop in the office for information on plantations close by. While you are here at Mount Pleasant KOA make sure you check out our wagon ride over to the Oakland Plantation to see and learn about our very own historic plantation as well!
The campground is conveniently located to numerous fantastic restaurants and shopping in the area. Explore the historic market in downtown Charleston, stop at a delicious restaurant and try all that the Low Country has to offer. Looking for great seafood? Head to Shem Creek, you can't go wrong. Stop by the office or ask one of our team for recommendations if you do not know where to start.
The Hunley, the first successful combat submarine, is displayed in a 75,000-gallon tank. View artifacts found during excavation, climb inside and crank a Hunley model and enjoy interactive exhibits for all ages. A fantastic way to spend the day.

Hit one of the many restaurants for a beautiful ocean view as you enjoy your food and drink.The City wants to remind residents and visitors about important regulations intended to protect our beautiful beach and promote a healthy environment for all to enjoy.
Take a day and visit Patriots Point and the Yorktown Aircraft Carrier. You can also visit the Vietnam Memorial while there.

The North Charleston Coliseum, Performing Arts Center, and Charleston Area Convention Center campus is the Lowcountry's premier destination for live entertainment & sports. Check out their website frequently as they are always adding new acts, stage performances, sporting events and other exciting things happening. Get your tickets early as they often sell out quickly. If you are looking for a place to rest your head look no further than our KOA - book a cabin, tent site, or stay in your own RV overlooking the lake.

Just a short drive from our KOA, visit the largest living Oak Tree - a must-see while you are visiting our area. Free to the public enjoy one of the most photographed places in our area.
The Angel Oak receives approximately 400,000 visitors each year. The tree is 65 feet high with a circumference of 25.5 feet, shading an area of 17,000 square feet. The public is allowed access seven days a week, and the park is closed on holidays. Admission to the general public is free but donations are gladly accepted to help in the preservation of the tree for future generations to enjoy. The gift shop provides information and retail merchandise including Lowcountry specialty items, such as memorabilia and keepsakes. The following are not allowed on or around the Tree: blankets, drinks, food, props, or tripods. Leashed pets are allowed in designated areas which include the picnic area.

Credit One Stadium is a tennis stadium located within the Family Circle Tennis Center tennis complex on Daniel Island. Built in 2001, the Family Circle Tennis Center has 17 courts, including the 10,200-seat main stadium, named the Credit One Stadium. Since 2001, it has hosted the WTA Tour's Charleston Open. This outdoor venue is also a well-known concert space. Some of their previous line-ups include musicians like The Lumineers, Hootie & the Blowfish, Jimmy Buffet & the Coral Reefer Band, Hank Williams, Jr., and many more. Check the website for concerts and sporting events as they are updated frequently and sell out quickly. We are a short drive to the stadium and make a great place for you to come back to after an exciting evening at the Stadium.
