Campground Reviews

The kids in our group were very disappointed to learn that jumping pillow/bike rentals were taken out by winter storms and resort was in "winter mode" so no rockwall or heated pool and scaled down petting farm (3 goats). None of this was disclosed on the website. Exterior cabin outlet didn't work and pot was misshapen so the lid didn't fit. Employees were friendly though!

Petaluma is a fine place for a short staycation if you’re local. We stayed during February when unfortunately we couldn’t take full advantage of the amenities. Firewood delivery was out of season which we weren’t told until 90 minutes later. It would be great if the website posted the seasonal dates! Some things our deluxe cabin with the loft were missing: a grill brush, tongs and a can open

Good location for visiting San Francisco but expensive, the showers were very low pressure and cold and the amenities ie pool, shop, laundry room are only open 9am to 8pm which is restrictive if you’re sightseeing. Nice shady sites and clean tidy park

Very nice, our only negative, being in a Class B we have to manually level the RV. Site was not level. Would stay again.

Very frustrating to pay $125 per night for a site and not have wifi that provides more than a weak signal. Most of the time, we couldn't even get on to research information we needed for our trip because the signal was too weak and google would time out. We've stayed here many times and this was the worst the wifi has ever been.

Love this campground!!!

Muddy camp site needed more rock. The public shower lacked hot water and pressure.

We booked a valley view, front desk tried to move us at check in in a site not big enough. Booked a FHU but site had no sewer. VIP Sewer is HIGHLY miss leading. Site 91 was very unlevel and very muddy. No Amazon delivery, no trash pick up, so, so customer service. Please see our detailed video review on You Tube @NomadNesters.

I reserved the slot 6 months ago with daily rate at 147$. However, KOA charged me at a new rate at 183.75$ per day. The help desk could not help me to adjust the price which had been set by KOA booking department. I had a request to refund me a difference, yet, I have not received a response from them.

Everything was absolutely amazing! However the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting!

Great stay with the family ! They should separate the sand from the basketball court. It makes the basketball slippery and dangerous. They should put money into a new basketball court actually. They should also make the cabin lights dimmers. Simply switch the bulbs to dimmer bulbs and swap the light switch out for a dimmer switch. Also upgrade the Rec center and add curtains in the showers.

Lovely grounds, nice stay. Pretty effortless in and out. I rated a "4" because we had no Internet unless we walked to the "Coop". I called Tenga, the company that is the Internet provider, and their response was that we were too far from the node (our space was about 3 away from it) and that we should buy a booster.

It is a beautiful and peaceful place. It is comfortable. The showers and bathrooms are really cleaned, and the personal there are very kind.

Great stay for the second time. One comment, we noticed traveling over the first quarter of 2024 that KOA rates seemed to have increased more than normal-just an FYI. Thank you, Dave

There was a mixup with our reservation but it was handled beautifully! Upgraded, discounted, and a bottle of wine!

I was pleasantly pleased with our stay, the facilities and park were clean. The staff were friendly. The location to downtown and the freeway were easily accessible. The only downfall was the jumping pillow was not in operation when we went there due to the weather, some RV slots are still under construction but overall great place. The sign to turn into the park was not visible from the road.

Staff was great— enjoyed our stay in the small cabin.

Friendly staff, great amenities. We stayed here to explore San Francisco and it was an easy 45 minute freeway drive to downtown.

We go twice a year, and have for a long time. Love this park! Clean, well cared for. Beautiful landscaping. Always improving. There's lots to do, although the Mrs and I tend to enjoy just hanging out at the campsite siting in front of a fire and enjoying a glass of wine or a fresh beer from Lagunitas or Hen House breweries, both less than 10 mins away. Stayed in Valley View area this trip.

Loved our stay! Our site was beautiful, the kids had a blast, and the amenities were well maintained. Perfect spot for our family.

Loved the camp grounds and all the upgrades had occurred since our last stay three years ago. We originally booked the new Valley View area - our reservations said full hookup which is critical for a family of 4 - VIP pump wouldn’t work for us - we luckily were able to switch sites with sewer connection. Otherwise great stay!

We had a fantastic time, and the cabin with the patio was awesome. He shared lawn and patio area with the other cabins was great as we mingle and visited with the other campers. I would give this place five star rating based on Mike alone. he was working on one of the cabins and came over to say hi and then brought us an umbrella for a patio table within minutes. We will definitely be returning

The staff was great and helped us adapt to the last of our move out and getting us a great start on our new way of life on the road. Hot water in the bathroom facilities was not good most of the time.

Great spot, close to San Francisco and many other attractions. On our way north after spending several months in Southern California - perfect stop over

This was our first time at your grounds and we enjoyed our stay there. The only negative that we had was how fast the kids, on electric scooters, were riding through the park. They would fly by us as we were taking a walk and if they would've hit someone or lost control and wrecked someone would have been hurt seriously. We have reservations for the Memorial weekend and are looking forward to it.

Depending on your spot this campground has privacy. End spaces are very nice. Clean campground and friendly staff. Went in the winter season so no pool use. Quiet campground. Lots to do in the area. We will be back!

Our family loved our stay! Wish all the amenities were open but we will be back to try them all when the weather gets better!

Lodge was nice and very clean. Pool was disappointingly cold, no one used it. Grounds were nice. A restaurant or snack hut or ice cream shop would’ve been a nice addition.

My bunnies and I had a great time during Easter week. Except the rain all day on Friday!

Terrible Wi-Fi and no cable
Apr 02, 2024
We really enjoyed our stay during Easter. The Koa made it very fun for kids and families. The staff was very friendly. Our only concern was that our site (147) sloped down so our tank wouldn’t drain properly. We had to move the rv to dump. Also, another camper had an aggressive dog that kept lunging at dogs that walked by and actually got loose and tried to attack mine (Not koas fault). We rebooked!!

It was a pleasant experience. We were able to enjoy our family and stay at a nice park. Great activities for the kids.

The campground is nice but be aware that if you need to do laundry there, you are forced to sign up for an app on your phone in order to use their machines that do not accept credit cards or coins. My husband and I have traveled all over the country and this is the first time we have encountered this. We didn't want to have to acquired an unwanted app on our phones and the instructions for acquiring it aren't easy. So we had to haul our laundry to a local laundromat and as we were leaving we saw other guests taking their laundry back after they left too. I complained nicely to a staff member who didn't seem to care. Having said that the campground is nice, surrounded by pine trees and redwoods. It's real advantage is being near the ferry boats going over to San Francisco. Be aware, while there is a local train going to the ferry, where it lets you off is three quarters to a mile walk to the ferry. In rain it would be very unpleasant and no one tells you how far the walk is. It is better to drive your car to the ferry and pay the $2 on the digital parking meter. We took the train once and drove three other times. Other than that, the campground is in a nice setting and near wine country too.

We went for a wine country weekend. It's the perfect location. Right between Sonoma and Santa Rosa. We stayed in a lodge. It was very nice. The pool was great. It was fun to see everyone having so much fun. The customer service was very friendly. I will go back.

We booked last minute and we're totally happy with our first KOA experience. The office staff and groundskeepers are out of this world friendly. My husband and I were traveling without the kiddo or the dogs, but if you have young kids with you, this is the place to stay! SO MANY kids and they're all running around playing and riding bikes/scooters. If little kid laughter bugs you, then be advised. There's a dog park, a petting zoo and the office has beer, wine 😉 and souvenirs. My only comment would be that laundry is not available 24/7 - only until 6 pm (even though it's behind closed doors) and that quiet hours last until 8 am (would've preferred 7 am since we had our motorcycle).
