Best KOA in the country. Well kept and in a beautiful location.

We have always loved this KOA. However one of the staff was rude. There were three couples two in sites 61 and 84 and cabin DC2. Saturday night we all met at Site 61 for dinner. I am handicapped as is the other lady in the cabin. Our husbands drove us to the site and parked where the basketball goal used to be. The only signage was about “Quiet Time”. The stay was excellent. Campground top notch. Staff can't say enough about how great, accommodating and helpful the entire team was. Place is amazing.

very nice park away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to enjoy everything. Staff was awesome and we definitely enjoyed our time there.

Clean and well maintained campground and facilities. We’ve been visiting this KOA since 2011 and will continue. It’s a quiet peaceful place that allows us to enjoy the outdoors.

Upon arrival we were greeted by professional staff and the entire stay could not have been any better! As always, thank you KOA TOWNSEND for a wonderful time! Patrick thank you for taking such good care of our campsite always checking in and making sure our needs were taken care of and we really enjoyed visiting with your dog Snickers!

Minimal space between sites. Our site was more or less a drainage path to a catch basin at the bottom of our site. Our available space for the picnic table was behind our 24’ class B; and about 10’ from the door of the neighboring trailer, the dogs in which were barking until the owners came back in the late evening. When they let the dogs out in the morning, one literally circled my ankles -

We’re getting “priced out,” even with the KOA Rewards discount. Not sure I would do a non-riverfront site (too close together) but we can’t stay often due to the cost. On the positive side, Jeff and ALL the crew are amazing. No one is better at helping this novice back in than those guys. The front office staff is super nice, too.

Great stay, thank you! The grounds were well-maintained. The property is pristine. My only issue is that we were in a very tight area with no privacy at all.

Have stayed at the Townsend KOA many times thru the past 15 years, both with groups and on my own. It never disappoints.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Mary in the office was so kind and helpful. It was quiet and the trees and shrubs between the sites were beautiful.

We arrived with the first trip for our new trailer. The spot we picked out was perfect but a little tight to get into. Kevin led us to our spot and very calmly walked us through backing in to it. That man had the patience of a saint! The campground was clean and quiet. We had such a great stay and didn’t want to leave!

Overall pleasant. We stay at a lot of KOA's and to date this is the only one that doesn't offer coffee. The men's rooms were not cleaned and weren't replenished with paper towels until the morning we left.

Second time staying here. Had a nice spot by the river at #100. One thing could help, if a sign would be posted at the entrance of the driveway to the site. Saying dead end or something in that nature. Seemed many peeps get confused its a way thru, Nice big dog park, Showers and laundry are the usual style. Would stay again if back in the area.

This was our first time camping here at the KOA in Townsend. We had a wonderful stay. We've not been camping long but this has been by far our favorite place to camp.

Great place to stay. Suggestions. We stayed in the deluxe cabin . The cook stove top would not work the first night. The next day we noticed a timer for the burners that was hidden up out of easy sight. I suggest you post a small sign pointing out the timer. Great place. Friendly staff.

What a hidden gem in Townsend! Our campsite on the river had a nice space and large patio which was perfect for our 31 ft trailer. The amenities were great (my daughter loved the playground) and the staff was very courteous. We already have another trip planned and cannot wait to come back!

Had an awesome time. Grounds are well kept and clean! Spaces are a little tight as we were in a 43’ Class A motorhome but would definitely be back and not let that hinder anything. Everyone was super friendly and we enjoyed our stay! Thank you

We had a site right on the water edge, and it was just beautiful. The site offered a large patio area that was complete with table and chairs.

This campground is a true gem in the Smokies. The staff and management are wonderful. Such a beautiful, peaceful location. Highly recommend.

Cades cove is a great place to go and enjoy nature at its best, pigeon forge has a lot of wonderful stores and amusement parks along the strip

This is a "Holiday" KOA so it has amenities for campers who stay away and look for entertainment. It is just outside and entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The "Little River" flows by the edge of the campground then into the National Park. some sites back up to the river. There are many trees in the campground. The bathroom and other building facilities are dated in design but clean, neat and spotless in appearance. I feel the whole campground is well maintained. I have a high-end site, $100/night but I like the space. All sites are gravel. Mine was in excellent condition. Very quiet at night. No AT&T cell service but the campground WiFi worked very well all the time.
