We LOVE staying here. I’ve stayed at this KOA since I was a kid. Now I’m 30 and coming back with my husband. Absolutely zero complaints, always.

Bathrooms and cabin were clean. The fall decorations were beautiful and cheerful. Check in and check out were quick and pleasant.

Trena was very helpful in the office, and Adam is a true gem. He is the most polite, friendly young man I have run across in years.

Staff was pleasant, professional and prompt. Campground was well kept and quiet. However, it appeared that the cabin had not been used recently. The AC unit was dirty and smelled of mildew and there were dead ants in the tub from a pest control spray. Staff responded within 30 minutes to clean the tub and AC unit and replace the AC filter. Unfortunately, it took 24 hours for the smell to go away.

We love this KOA. It is so beautiful, they go above and beyond to accommodate you. The bathrooms and showers are always clean. We stay here as often as possible.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The little community inside the campground was great also. Other campers friendly and the environment with the little river so tranquil. We loved the activities that were open from Hayrides and Tye Dye to even having a church service on Sunday. We live in Blount County and have already said we want to comeback. RV site and Cabin were perfect. Best KOA so Far

We finally rented 1 of the cabins on the river for my husband's 60th bday. The outside area was beautiful & well-maintained. I was disappointed with the lack of maintenance on the inside of this cabin. The kitchen was very nice, but the bathroom was a mess - short toilet, shower head a joke and unusable, tiles missing - generally a mess. Saying that we will still visit this KOA. Great staff.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The campground was quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We're glad to have found such a nice place that has pet friendly options.

Beautiful property with many amenities, friendly staff, convenient gas station and wonderful store with a wide variety of goods to choose from. The two room camping cabin was perfect for our needs and close to the restrooms. Loved sitting on the porch and walking to the nearby creeks to enjoy the views and falling leaves.

We stayed in a camping cabin and were blown away with the cleanliness of the cabin. Even under the beds were spotless! We loved that we had a fire ring with a cooking grate, a clean grill, and a picnic table. We had plenty of room to cook outside and enjoy the fall weather! The showers and dish washing stations were incredibly clean. The staff were all kind and helpful. The entire place was clean!

We rented a two-bedroom cabin for our stay, one adult and three teenagers. Cabin was clean and comfortable, as were the bathrooms and showers. We enjoyed all the amenities and the beautiful, well-kept grounds. Enjoyed playing in the adjacent river! We will come back here again!

I stayed in cabin 8 one night and one night in DC2. I'd stay again in either one. DC2 is for those who want the comforts of home on the river. Cabin 8 is for those who want a more primitive camping experience. To me the Campground is a work of art where the beauty of nature comes first. I couldn't have designed better myself. The staff is top notch and will attend to all your needs. 5 Star staff.

Had a great time staying at the KOA in Townsend in a cabin, TN. Everything is always neat, clean, and orderly in the campground. The only negative that I could say was that the older lady behind the counter was irritated about being asked if the pool was open. Fortunately it was still open due to great weather but sign said closed in September. If she didn't like to be asked then take down sign

We came for the 1/2 Marathon. I had never stayed here before. I could not have been happier with our Deluxe Cabin! There were 4 adults and a big dog, and we lived:):):) The outside area with fire pit and grill was so nice, and the inside was very clean. We just kept saying how nice it was. Took several walks with the dog, and scoped out the lots we want when we retire with our camper!!!

The cabin we stayed was very cute and had everything we needed but the mattress was not good at all. The pool was very clean and nice and the area was kept very clean ,just need new mattresses.

We had a wonderful time at the Townsend/Great Smokies KOA. My only recommendation would be to upgrade the paper products in the restroom. Scott Professional has a wonderful bathroom tissue selection. (I am not employed at Kimberly-Clark)

This is the third time my husband and I have stayed at the Townsend/Great Smokies KOA. The cabin is always neat and clean. The campground itself is very quiet and appealing. I look forward to coming back for another stay.

We stayed in the Cozy Cabins. The full size bed mattress was really uncomfortable. Would recommend bringing a mattress topper or egg crate to make it better. The kids didn't complain about the bunk beds and seemed to enjoy them. Staff was amazing. Pool was nice and clean. We enjoyed the showers and bathrooms were clean.

Edit: Two years later and we finally got to come back and stay by the river. I think this is the best tent site in the Smokies! And the best campground! We had a great stay at this beautiful campground! Had to switch last minute from a tent site to a cabin due to bad weather and the staff were so helpful. Can't wait to come back and stay by the river!
