The amenities they said they had on their list were lies. The sound is beautiful but the fishing is 0, the boat shuttle not working yet… but is listed, the bus to shopping is lies it went to a farmers market. No one answers the phone. We had a death in the family and they would not refund us one night due to a holiday weekend. Do not recommend!

Holiday weekend, camp store was mostly empty. Coolers were empty and there were only a few flavors of ice cream which is a treat we look forward to while camping here. Trash receptacles were over flowing. I feel they were un-prepared for this holiday weekend.

Very remote location. Showers were nice. Water taxi was out of service. Paid almost double in price to stay during a holiday weekend. No pool.

We have stayed here for years. It is our go to campground. We had a great time. We are disappointed that that nature trails have been closed due to getting a pool. We feel this takes away from what we loved most about this campground. The pool should be the sound. Sorry that this campground will be losing some charm. We have decided to not rent the golf cart anymore because of this.

We had a Waterview site, but had more of a shrub view at site WV66, this is our only negative for our complete stay over a holiday weekend! WE WILL VISIT AGAIN! So many good things about this campground!

The campground office staff were very friendly, however the store staff not so much. We wanted to try the mini golf, and the one lady told my six-year-old daughter “we aren’t allowing the mini golf right now because there’s a mama bird out there protecting her baby. You don’t want the baby to die, do you”? The playground area was very nice, and the campground offered lots of amenities.

Clean and safe. Fun environment. Sutes were very close together but spacious enough. Store could have been better stocked and we were disappointed the water taxi was advertised but not in service.

This was probably the most lacking KOA we’ve ever stayed at. They seemed to be out of most things, which really stinks because the closet grocery store was 30-45 minutes away. The staff was friendly and the sites were decent but probably won’t be staying there in the future.

Water front sites have beautiful views of the Currituck sound. Plenty of room to maneuver larger 5th wheels or motorhomes. All the staff were excellent and the grounds were clean.

This KOA is about the location. Its right on the water, so the views are spectacular, there is a constant breeze, which seems to help with some bugs. The sites are a little tight, but not uncomfortably so. There are red ant hills everywhere. The sewer connection at our site was elevated, so drainage was a little tricky. Overall, not a bad stay.

The view from our site was beautiful. The docks were nice touch. However, some amenities/events that were highlighted on site were not working. I.e., water taxi, food truck. I also felt like the site may need sprayed for fleas because we did not bring an animal but we were dealing with fleas. Also bathrooms need to be cleaned frequently throughout day because they were rough by end of day.

As expected, clean, site was ready for us, ample campground space. We like having water, sewer and power - all worked great. Good water pressure. Nice and helpful neighbors. Not too loud, too late. Something you can improve on: WIFI. It didn’t work very well or often. Also, you advertised a water taxi to Corolla and your website said it would be running Memorial Day weekend. It wasn’t.

We had a nice visit at the Outer Banks West / Currituck Sound KOA. The staff we encountered over the weekend were very professional, friendly, and helpful. The site was clean and well-kept. The waterfront site was narrower than I expected after reading the booking description. My neighbor, upon arrival, was parked halfway into my spot and could not move the truck. Overall, it was a good stay.

Camp sites are very close together. The activity Director attitude is childish like. The camp Store has little to no help wait in line to get firewood for 35 minutes. The camp store supplies is very overpriced and hardly has any supplies for camping if you need anything.

This was our first stay and we loved it! The staff is helpful, friendly and the grounds are well kept. The sunrises are beautiful when you can see them! We will definitely stay again

The stay was wonderful. Our biggest issue: the fire ring had no grate to be able to cook. However, I was able to jerry rig the issue. The grounds were neatly kept. The staff was very friendly.

Only problem was that on arrival they had us at a site that was too small for our rig ( wouldn’t have been about to open slides) or have clearance for our tongue from road. After asking for another site they did move us. Just disappointing that even though we gave them our length etc…at booking they didn’t take it into consideration.

Our campsite was wonderful. A w waterfront back in. The amenities were wonderful with lots of activities for families with kids. The weather was not very good, so we didn't get to enjoy being outside, but that was not the fault of the park!

Disappointed with our latest stay. This year's 2024 management and employees were the most unapproachable and unfriendly, to the point that we had to cancel our pre-scheduled stay (two weeks) for the coming fall. Campsite was completely unprepared, and when we put our garbage out for a pick up as it was last year, an employee came running.."didn't you read the agreement?".. No space to say more..

It’s a great place but first experience with the manager wasn’t the best but got better over our stay there. Store hours need to be better and consistent. Last group that managed it were much better and friendlier. The workers are great and friendly but just seemed short handed.

The place is clean, staff was friendly, the waterfront sites are tight between the camp sites. The sewage connection tube I had was too high and flow was an issue. Many other sites were fine to allow drainage from the RV function, to follow that up I was on the highest point of the grounds. They should treat the grounds for Ants. Didn't put the rug out because of them.

The water is nice. The pond is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. The areas we used to be able to ride our golfcart on is now closed so riding around is now a 5 minute ride. Used only now to get to showers. Which were clean. There is nothing close by to go and do so being able to do stuff at the campground is important. Shane could use an attitude adjustment. There is no need to talk nasty to people.

Great meeting host at check in. Staff was awesome and very friendly. Grounds are kept up very nice and plenty of activities even with all rain over the weekend.

The view was awesome!! The amenities for a Holiday KOA were ridiculous. No trash pick up. Camp store hours not posted. Open very few hours a day. Check in process was SUPER SLOW. No orientation info at check-in. No communications from the campground via text like other KOAs. $10 a day resort fee when the activities were almost none and what they had was locked up. Only 1 friendly worker there.

Generally nice, clean well maintained. Know where the turn is because there are no signs on the highway. No trees but good view of the sound and the outer banks across the sound. No firewood available (we visited 5/15/24). To hook up electric and sewer is a stretch for both. Hour plus drive to Kitty Hawk, Corolla. 1 1/2 hour to Cape Hatteras.

Great location, quiet and serene—just what we needed to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. This KOA is tucked away behind Church's Island neighborhood, so you wouldn't even know it's there. The roads are very narrow when going through this area before you get to the KOA, so keep that in mind if you have a big rig. But don't let that scare you, because there are plenty of big rigs that go there. Yes, we're going to visit again. The staff was great, the location is great, and the bathrooms and laundry facilities were excellent and well-maintained. The convenience store was great, and the fun activities they have outside, like a jump house, putting green, and little mini go-karts that are powered by pedal power, are worth trying out if you want to work out. Oh, and make sure you visit the Morris Farmers Market in Currituck, which is about 26 minutes away. It's definitely a place you need to visit for the shopping, the food, the music, and the environment—it's totally worth it. And if you want to venture out a little further, like we did, we went to Kitty Hawk, which only took us barely an hour to get to. It was such an easy and scenic drive, and we got to see an awesome part of history when it comes to the first recorded flights and innovation.
